When will the you fix the streets in this city? I just had to get the alignment on my car adjusted (again) because of the beating it takes every day driving the streets.

I know, we have several road that are just awful. Which roads specifically are you referring to? I can find out from public works when they are scheduled for repair once I know which ones you're talking about.

Well I'd say all of them, but just last night I went to the Storm game, and all of the roads, from the time you get off the freeway until you get to the stadium are horrible.

There is not a street in this town that is not in need of repair and we have all asked for repairs time and time again and yet nothing is ever done. Heald is a nightmare and just about any other street including Main St. BTW we went to Ginas for breakfast over the weekend, nice job council members on tearing down the buildings and leaving an empty dirt lot...no class and just another tacky empty crap hole for the City, I know that you had nothing to do with it but I just needed to vent :)

My honey and I just got back from our yearly harley ride, 2800 miles we ended up in a small town called Williams, in AZ, six years ago when we were there it was all but a ghost town, a small town of only 1500 in the winter months and their attraction is the train to the Grand Canyon. This town is located on historic route 66, the people of this town have figured out how to bring tourism to the town in a huge way. It now has 10 Hotels and Motels, many places to eat and their main old town is full of tourist shops that sell historic route 66 memorabilia, home made fudge, Indian decor, biker stuff and on & on . One corner has a route 66 outside diner with some of the best barbecue I have tasted. The week that we were their they were all gearing up for the rodeo coming to town and two weeks prior to us being there they had held a bike rally in town with bands, vendors and the works, people rode from all over to attend. We were lucky to find a room during the week because the town was full of tourists and people there for the rodeo. I guess my questions would be that there are Podunk towns all over America, and if a small town like Williams can figure out how to turn there little town into a gold mine why does LE have such a problem, no we don't have a train to the Grand Canyon, but we do have attractions "the Lake" and the Stadium. We used to have rodeos here in town and we do have a very quaint "old town" that just screams potential....Our ride took us through many small towns in NV, Utah,& Colorado, all of these places had sold out hotels, towns that were hopping with people on vacation, biking, riding or just walking around enjoying whatever the towns had to offer and most of the towns weren't offering any major attractions other then a quaint old town main street???? What is wrong with Lake Elsinore???????????

Sorry everyone, someone spilled water on my keyboard and the computer needs to be fixed now, so I haven't been able to log in :( Of course no one in my house has confessed yet. Borrowing the use of a computer for the next few minutes, hope to be up and running again today.

Dear Diana,

Answer to your question may be, "Because we're in California."

The West Coast capital of "analysis paralysis", ninth circuit court, and habitat of the highest level numbers of non-informed domicilites uninformed, or interested in the necessity of politics performance.

In answer to your question about the road repairs, specifically Diamond Drive improvement between the freeway and Mission Trail – contract was awarded by the City Council on June 14. Construction is to start July 18, 2011, and the scheduled completion is September 2011.

Is there a site that we can check out for City works that posts roads that will be repaired or that we can voice our complaints regarding road repair?

Yes, if you go to the city's home page on the top right there is a link that says "I want to".
Scroll over that link and there are choices like "report pot holes, traffic safety issues", etc.

Click on the appropriate choice and you will be taken to an online form to file your complaint. Hope that helps!
